Hi there!
My name is Michael Megna, a recent mechanical engineering graduate with a manufacturing concentration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, class of 2023.
Product Development is at the core of my skillset. Through my internship at GoWesty Camper Products, I saw products from idea to reality, with multiple of my products hitting market (and selling out!). The design for manufacturing and prototyping skills I learned there are invaluable to my current work. Further, as an Aerodynamic Structures sub-lead with Cal Poly Racing (Formula SAE), I gained in-depth detailed design and analysis experience. With the team, I led our structural simulation efforts of composite structures using ANSYS ACP and taught younger members the basics of Finite Element Analysis. Most recently, I worked with the Advanced Development team at Sonos, Inc to create the most innovative audio products on the market, where I contributed to new product and R&D efforts, with a patent filing in the works.
This has all brought me to my first full-time role postgrad as a Starlink Engineer at SpaceX where I am further developing my product design and manufacturing skills on Starlink consumer hardware!
When not working on products, I am likely enjoying the great outdoors as an avid hiker and rock climber. I also have a passion for film photography and documenting landscapes and travel scenes - see my photo gallery!
