Vanagon Fuel Line Adapter

During my internship at GoWesty Camper Products, I designed a new product to fix a common issue with early Vanagons. Early Vanagons came with a plastic adapter to connect a rigid plastic fuel line to a soft rubber line at the fire wall. After 40 years, this plastic is incredibly brittle and is a known failure point, leading to fires that total vans - no good. My solution was to design and source a custom grommet to hold a 3mm to 5mm barbed hose adapter captive at the firewall joint! This eliminates the sketchy plastic and has now been installed on a number of vans, including my own!
